Sidefari App Reviews

Clever App

Split view just got a lot more useful. I love that I can open in Sidefari from Safari. Great job on this well thought out app.

The Best Complement to Safari in Split View mode.

Sidefari allows you to have two Safari windows side-by-side in SplitView with the same cookies, etc. You can easily send between both apps using a Safari button in Sidefari and a Send to Sidefari button in Safari.

I would have paid $9.99

Thanks for this app its exactly what split view / slide over needed. Safari is the only browser I use. So before your app 2 Safari browsers open at the same time was not possible. Also thanx to MacStories for the article highlighting the app!

Waste of money. Deleted it after attempted use.

Way Better than Splitting Safari and Chrome

Content blockers appear to be working, however it still doesnt support tabs. Overall a great app though, "send to sidefari" function in the share menu is great!

Dont waste your money

This is not a browser, it is a viewer and you basically cut and paste from safari. Save your money and run safari side by side with chrome, Firefox, or the other free browsers.

Fills a critical role, but with a keyboard-related flaw

Sidefari is awesome because it uses a Safari view that shares state with Mobile Safari. You can have two Safari tabs open side-by-side on an iPad Pro! Glorious. Sidefari needs work because if one of those tabs is Google or Ebay or some other site where you need to type into in input field with a physical keyboard, Sidefari frequently looses the ability to focus that input and still pass keyboard input to the web view. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future update.

Good App

Works as described and very handy on the Pro. One add for an update would be some way to send the Safari page to Sidefari as well as the other way. Small point. If you have an Air2 or Pro, very useful for only a buck.

What Apple Should Have Provided

My biggest disappointment with multitasking has been answered — ability to copy & paste directly between two open Safari pages at the same time. This was a no-brainer. Why didnt Apple include this essential capacity?

Just what I wanted.

Since multitasking became available I was hoping someone would make this. Having to webpages open side-by-side with all of the Safari features is excellent!

It does exactly what I need it to do

It would be great if Apple incorporated the ability to run multiple instances of the same app in split-view. However, since this is not an option at this time, apps like Sidefari will have to do it for them.

Complete waste of money.

This is not a web browser at all. It is a horrible companion. Its easier to use safari and Firefox together than this very limited attempt at an "add-on". I will be requesting a refund.

Great companion to Safari

Im a bit confused by the negative reviews from a small few who obvious dont understand the purpose of this app. Its not promised to be a full fledged web browser...but a companion piece to Safari. If you need a split screen web browser then using Chrome or Firefox is a better choice. The point of this app is for folks, like myself, who will be working in Safari...have a webpage you need open in split view next to another tab you have going, click the share button, select to send it to this app and have it available in your split view. Think of it more like an extension to Safari. The app works great and fills a need I have all the time. Kudos to the developer for thinking of this simple, needed solution.

surf monster

great with the ipad pro....apple needs to wake up & start improving ios (add this to safari)!

A dream

Makes up for a pretty big oversight on Apples part. Highly recommended!

Very limited functions, it could be better!

It re-opens the current page from safari to sidefari, but not open directly to sidefari, its a little odd, maybe its not possible because the safari api. And i prefer bookmarks more than histories, or better, a safari homescreen. Anyway, its better than other multitasking browsers.

Really?

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was obviously a cash grab for people with an iPad that wanted side by side web browsers. This app has so little effort put into it - your literal first interaction with it is flawed - the keyboard for an address bar is not set to the keyboard with the .com button. That is literally two clicks in a drop down selector in Xcode storyboard. The icon is nice, so it gets a bonus star for that.

Nice

Just what I need

System Crasher!

This app crashed the system every time I run it. It also makes Safari very unstable. Deleted. Waste of time and disk space.

Absolutely worth it

Until Apple allows side-by-side Safari apps, this app is the tool you need for iPad Air 2, Mini 4, and Pro for split screening. Not sure why its available on iPhone, but hey, still a good app. Worth every penny.
